National Employment Strategy

<----Back to news index

As a part of the Social Inclusion Agenda, the Australian Government is developing a National Mental Health and Disability Employment Strategy. The Strategy will be developed in close consultation with consumers, peak bodies, employers, state and territory governments and experts.

The Strategy aims to address the barriers faced by people with disability and/or mental illness that make it harder for them to gain and keep work.

To ensure the Strategy is practical and effective, the Government wants input from a wide range of people with disability and/or mental illness who have experienced the challenges of working and seeking work.

A discussion paper outlines the background and purpose of the Strategy and provides instructions and examples of how you can submit your ideas and also.

Submissions can be made 30 June 2008.
