Help reduce injury and death in the workplace

SCI Australia invites the business community to support Teamsafe, a new workplace injury prevention program.

Teamsafe is designed to support positive Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) outcomes in the workplace.

Tens of thousand of people are seriously injured in the workplace each year. Many incidents result in death. For example 2001-02 data for the national workplace show there were just under 140,000 accepted workers compensation cases which resulted in fatality, permanent disability or temporary disability.

Such incidents have a ripple effect through the workplace, into families and communities. No statistic can adequately account for the life-changing emotional impact of such incidents.

Teamsafe aims to motivate employees to take personal ownership of OH&S in their workplace. The communication model is designed to emotionalise the issue of safety and make it personally relevant. Employees are engaged through a series of learning modules including the shared experience of people seriously injured in the workplace. We call them Teamsafe Ambassadors.

TheTeamsafe learning experience can be tailored for your workplace to include “learning reinforcement” tasks such as team games of Wheelchair Basketball and the “Wheelchair Experience” challenge.

Teamsafe is win-win for employees and employers.
